PHILADELPHIA – The New Orleans Saints (NFL) WR Marques Colston officially added a new team to his resume last Friday night (Oct 10th, 2014) in South Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Soul officially welcomed Colston at Chickie and Pete’s just four minutes away from the Wells Fargo Center where the Soul were 7-2 last season.
“I’ve known Marques for a while – covering the NFL, but I have gotten to know him not only as a player but as a person,” Soul majority owner Ron Jaworski said. “He was just a perfect compliment for our ownership group.”
The news broke to Soul Insider/Arena Insider and Philadelphia Daily News a week before Friday that Colston

brought his share into the team. Marques, playing eighth season with New Orleans, grew up in Harrisburg Pennsylvania where he currently owns a PIFL (Professional Indoor Football League) team – the Harrisburg Stampede so another Arena league team is no new experience for the 31-year old receiver.
“I had an opportunity to meet John Adams (Soul co-owner) about three years ago and he has been a great resource to me,” Colston told reporters briefly after his introduction. “This opportunity was presented to me about three months ago and was just too good to pass up.”
For the New Orleans Saints, Colston this season has 15 receptions, 248 yards and one touchdown.
