During the Soul’s open tryouts, McDaniel confirmed to reporters that he has made a decision to remain the #1 receiver on the team’s depth chart.
“Oh yeah, I’ll be ready,” said an enthusiastic Ryan McDaniel at NovaCare Complex. “I’m ready to come out from the gate, and destroy [every team]. No more close games, All about winning.”
The third year receiver from Samford University, had to end his tremendous season short last year with an achilles tear. Before heading to the IR list, McDaniel had 1,026 yards and 19 touchdowns. Eyes will be focused on Ryan this training camp to see if he is healthy and ready to go this season.
“[Rehab] has been good, slow, but everything has been coming along great,” McDaniel said. “I’m about 85% right now but in about a month when training camp starts, i’ll be 100%.”
McDaniel will receive a ton of support from a stacked group of receivers that Philadelphia has recently acquired like Dominique Curry, Tyrone Goard, and Shaun Kauleinamoku.
“I can’t wait to play with them,” McDaniel said. “When they come in, I’ll just put them under my wing, teach them what I know so they can add to whatever they have in their game.”
