Portland WR Jamar Howard Placed On IR

Portland Thunder Press Release

PORTLAND – The Portland Thunder placed leading receiver Jamar Howard on injured reserve this afternoon, announced the AFL League Office today.

Jamar exited last weekend’s game in San Jose midway through the second quarter, following an 11 yard reception where he was hit into the wall by SaberCat DB Ken Fontenette. The leg injury will require surgery, to be scheduled later this week. He is expected to have a recovery time of 5 to 6 weeks following the surgery.

Howard’s 45 catches, for 610 yards through five games this season ranks second in the Arena Football League for both statistical receiving categories. His 13 touchdowns has him tied for first.
