SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Shock added veteran depth to their defense on Wednesday with the acquisitions of pass rusher Micah King and defensive back Christian Wise.

King (5-11, 245, Southern Illinois) joins the Shock for his sixth season as a member of the Arena Football League and his third season with Spokane. King has amassed 139 total tackles (98 solo), 13 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and eight pass breakups over his career in the AFL. He began his collegiate career at Joliet Junior College as a linebacker before transferring to Southern Illinois University.

Wise (6-1, 190, Clark Atlanta) joins the Spokane roster for his fifth season in the AFL. Over the course of his career, Wise has served as a contributing utility player for multiple AFL franchises, playing wide receiver, defensive back, and on special teams. Wise began his career with the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings in 2010 before playing for the Kansas City Command in 2011 and 2012. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Power midway through the 2012 season and spent all of 2013 with the team. He saw action in one game last year with the Cleveland Gladiators. For his career, Wise has recorded 44.5 total tackles and nine pass breakups as a defensive back while adding 59 receptions for 818 yards and 17 touchdowns as a receiver. He has also returned 49 kicks for 778 yards and one touchdown.

In additional transactions, Spokane traded veteran wide receiver Rod Harper to the New Orleans VooDoo for future considerations and activated receiver Braylon Bell (6-6, 206, Abilene Christian) from the Other League Exempt list after he was recently released by the NFL’s Washington Redskins. Defensive back JT Fitzgerald (6-1, 206, Rocky Mountain) has been placed on Inactive Reserve, while rookie defensive lineman Will Hunt (6-4, 265, Charleston Southern) has been placed on Injured Reserve and rookie offensive lineman Tavaris Jeffries (6-4, 325, Oklahoma) has been placed on League Suspension.
