The New Orleans Voodoo have now lost 7 games in a row.
Not even a bye week could help this team on Saturday night, with all the rumors surrounding the team of late, everyone wondered how the Voodoo would respond in their first game in 2 weeks. It was a pathetic response. Larry Brackins caught 5 passes; all for touchdowns as the Orlando Predators moved to 8-6 with a 56-43 win over the 2-11 New Orleans Voodoo on Saturday night.
New Orleans has had many games this year where they have stayed close in the first half only to get blown out afterwords. That seemed to be the case again on Saturday as the Voodoo were in the game for the first half, fighting head to head with their long time rivals. Adam Kennedy found Roosevelt Falls with 3 seconds left in the half to pull New Orleans to within 28-23 at the break. Then in the third quarter, it all fell apart. Randy Hipperd, who made his first start in 7 weeks, hit Larry Brackins twice in the third period to give Orlando a 19 point lead heading into the 4th and it was over after that.
The Voodoo now have to sit through anther bye week as the whole AFL will observe the 4th Of July, and when the Voodoo get off the break, they visit the 12-1 San Jose SaberCats.
