Soul Trade For WR Prechae Rodriguez

Philadelphia Soul Press Release

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Soul have acquired veteran wide receiver Prechae Rodriguez in exchange for future considerations in a trade with the Jacksonville Sharks, the team announced on Friday.

Rodriguez (6-4, 215, Auburn) enters his fifth season in the AFL and first with the Soul. He recorded 14 receptions for 157 yards and four touchdowns with the Sharks last year. As a member of the Pittsburgh Power in 2014, Rodriguez caught 85 passes for 1,138 yards and 32 touchdowns. He set a single-season franchise record with 41 touchdown receptions as a member of the Orlando Predators in 2013 and led the Tampa Bay Storm with 1,653 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns as a rookie in 2012.

“We are fortunate to have a receiver of Prechae’s caliber on our roster this year,” said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. “His experience will give him the chance to be a leader on the field and will be a dangerous weapon for our offense, especially in the red zone.”

Before heading to the AFL, Rodriguez spent time in the CFL playing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2008), Saskatchewan Roughriders (2010), Monteral Alouettes (2011), Edmonton Eskimos (2011) and Toronto Argonauts (2011). He finished his collegiate career at Auburn after transferring from Coffeyville Community College, where he totaled 27 receptions for 408 yards and two touchdowns playing for Auburn.
