Soul Have Eyes Focused On Handing Orlando Their First Loss Of Season

Fresh off of their impressive and milestone 65-58 victory against the Arizona Rattlers, the now 6-1 Philadelphia Soul believe they are more than ready to upset the 7-0 Orlando Predators at home on Saturday.

Soul Head coach Clint Dolezel spoked confidently to reporters after last week’s game against Arizona that they will not be doing anything different as they prepare for the Predators and that the team is just looking at Orlando as another opponent.

“We’re just going to heal up and work our normal routine,” Coach Dolezel who is in his fourth season with the Soul said after the game. “We obviously know that [Orlando] is a good team and doing pretty well so it will be another tough battle.”

QB Dan Raudabaugh who is coming off a six touchdown performance last week, will be watched by Predators DB Varmah Sonie who is currently tied for most interceptions this season with Soul DB Dwayne Hollis at five. Raudabaugh took notice of the tough competition he is going up against but has nothing but confidence in the group around him to potentially take first place of the American Conference.

“Coach Keefe (Orlando) is one of the premier coaches right now, they are going to be ready,” Raudabaugh said. “[Hippeard] is hot as fire right now, so we just have to remain focused and I am just expecting another battle.”

Other than the team’s mindset that Orlando is just another opponent, is that the Soul realize that Orlando QB Randy Hippeard who comes in with his league leading 42 touchdowns, and 1,920 yards is rolling hot and is picking defenses apart. However, coach Dolezel already has his game plan in place and that is to have his forceful line that includes Teddy Jennings and Jake Metz  to provide nothing but pressure all game long on the 30 year old quarterback from Virginia.

Philadelphia is currently on a five-game win streak and are 4-1 at home. Due to the Democratic National Convention being hosted at the Wells Fargo Center, it will be the Soul’s last home game until the playoffs so the team is expecting their biggest crowd of the season on Military Appreciation Night. The game is set to kickoff on Saturday May 21st, 2016 at 7:30pm ET on CBS Sports Network.
