Tampa Bay Storm press release
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce that defensive back Al Phillips has rejoined the Storm.
“Al is a veteran player that understands the game of arena football,” said Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.  “We are happy that he is back with the team and we are looking forward to his leadership on and off the field.”
Phillips (5-foot-11, 190 lbs., Wagner) rejoins the Storm after spending the 2016 season with the National Conference champion, Arizona Rattlers.  The seven-year veteran began his first stint with the Storm in 2015 and quickly became the leader of the defensive backfield.  Phillips had a stellar 2015 season, leading the team with 107.0 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a single-season franchise record 39 pass breakups.

The team reassigned wide receiver Tyrone Goard.
