JOE HILLS CATCHES LAST SECOND PASS; STORM DEFEATS WASHINGTON VALOR
TAMPA, FL – Joe Hills caught a three yard pass with three seconds remaining as the Tampa Bay Storm (5-1) defeated the Washington Valor, 53-47, Saturday in an Arena Football League game at Amalie Area.
The win was the second in a row over the Valor (1-4), after the Storm won, 41-33, at Washington.
Clock management in the final minute of any game can make the difference and for the second time, the Storm did it well.
It was Hills third score of the game and he ended with a game high 11 catches for 123 yards. He also was named the MVP of the game.
Quarterback Erik Meyer of the Valor was replaced by backup Bernard Morris for the remainder of the game. He took a hard hit at 6:40 of the fourth period.
After the Storm tied the game at 14, Washington scored twice in the second quarter, the second time after Tampa Bay lost the ball on downs.
Hippeard only had 96 yard in the first half and was below his spectacular 70% completion rate, but he picked it up in the third quarter hitting four of five including two scores. He ended with 19 of 31, no interceptions, 233 yards and seven touchdown
