West Texas Desert Hawks part ways with Head Coach Chris Siegfried

2 min read

ODESSA, Tx — Former West Texas Desert Hawks Head Coach Chris Siegfried announced he will no longer be coaching for the West Texas Desert Hawks.

“My journey in West Texas has come to an abrupt ending. I want to thank the [Desert Hawks] owner for this opportunity. I wish I could have done a better job. To my players, keep fighting. You’re the most talented group in the AFL. I’ll see you at the Arena Bowl.” Siegfried shared on his X account.

As of Monday, there are no details regarding the sudden departure of Siegfried. It followed after the team’s 73-70 loss to the Albany Firebirds in overtime on June 8.

The Desert Hawks (3-4) lost their last four games after starting 3-0.

The team has yet to announce the change in leadership.

This remains a developing story and this post will be updated with more details as it emerges.
