NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Nashville Kats are officially relocating from Nashville to Clarksville beginning next season, the team announced Thursday during a press conference.

“The passion here is real, and this new arena is the perfect stage for what we’re building,” Kats majority owner and Arena Football One Commissioner Jeff Fisher said in a press release. “We came up just short of a championship in 2025, and now with Clarksville as our home, I believe this team has everything it needs to finish the job in 2026.”

The Kats played their home games at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville during their first season in 2024 with the now-defunct Arena Football League. On May 18, 2024, the team hosted one scheduled home game at F&M Bank Arena against the Wichita Regulators, which drew a significant increase in fan support.

The partnership continued into the inaugural Arena Football One season, when the Kats defeated the Southwest Kansas Storm 48-43 in a semifinal playoff game in Clarksville.

Following the season, the team and F&M Bank Arena launched a “Keep the Kats in Clarksville” campaign. Fans were able to place season ticket deposits – more than 500 in total, according to the arena, which ultimately helped solidify the decision to make Clarksville the team’s permanent home base.

“With our goal of bringing a family-fun event based on community, we have been blown away by the support we received from Clarksville and Montgomery County,” Kats CEO Bobby DeVoursne said in the release. “We are excited to be growing as the first professional sports franchise to call Clarksville our home. We look forward to a deep partnership with the community and to bringing economic value to local businesses and families that support us.”

The Kats are led by an ownership group that also includes former NFL coach Jon Gruden and former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip.
