REPORT: Lee Hutton ousted as commissioner. Jeff Fisher appointed as interim
1 min readMINNEAPOLIS — A source informed Arena Insider that Commissioner Lee Hutton III was voted out of office late Monday.
Owners reportedly ousted Hutton in an unanimous vote and appointed current Nashville Kats owner Jeff Fisher as interim commissioner.
An official announcement is expected to be made on Tuesday.
The news comes after Minnesota Myth owner and wife of Lee, Diana, informed players to return home immediately. The Myth became the fourth team to suspend its season in the league’s historic return.
Many players and owners spoke out in disapproval of Hutton and the league office over the last few weeks, mostly regarding pay and playing conditions.
Billings Outlaws owner Steven Titus appeared on Arena Insider Press Pass on May 4 and called for Hutton’s resignation. Titus was one of a few owners including coaches who voiced their support of Fisher as his replacement.
This is a developing story and this post will be updated with more details as it becomes available.
